Three Vehicles Catch Fire at Douglas Anderson School
News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One driver tried to get away from another vehicle on fire, but didn't make it in time, ending up with a burned car.

According to John Bracey with Jacksonville Fire Rescue, one driver pulled into a parking space at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts this morning, got out and walked away.

A driver parked in an adjacent spot noticed the vehicle was on fire, and tried to get out of the way.

That car also caught fire, as did a third vehicle nearby.

The fire department put out the fires and treated the driver who tried to get away for smoke inhalation, but there were no injuries.

Bracey said one car was destroyed, one was heavily damaged and the third sustained light damage.

The fires were not in a student parking lot at the school.
