July 4 – Senior Days - Senior Days is a special program for members of the senior citizen community that includes a coffee and donut reception, an educational presentation, and free time to explore the museum.  The program starts at 9:45 a.m. and is $6 per senior citizen.  Reservations are suggested and are based on availability. Call 396.MOSH (6674), ext. 226 for details. 

July 6 – Cosmic Concert – Experience total-sensory entertainment as laser lights, high-def images and digital sound collide to create a Cosmic Concert! Laser Beach Boys at 7 p.m., Laser Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here at 8 p.m., Laser Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon at 9 p.m. and Laser Pink Floyd: The Best of “The Wall” at 10 p.m. Tickets are available at www.moshplanetarium.org or at the door. Tickets are $5 per person per show; laser glasses cost $1.

July 11 – Pre-K Day - Bring your little ones over to MOSH the second Wednesday of every month for exclusive programming for preschool-aged children and their caregivers.  From 9 to 11 a.m. admission is only $5 per person (ages 3 & up) and includes the planetarium show, Earth, Moon and Sun, at 10 a.m.  Call 904.396.MOSH (6674) ext. 226 for details.

July 14 – Tonca’s Birthday Party – Join the fun as Daisy May, MOSH’s resident opossum, throws a birthday bash for Tonca, MOSH’s 46-year-old alligator snapping turtle.  Party activities will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and will include face painting, party games, animal encounters and cake, of course!   The party will culminate with Tonca’s annual weigh-in in the newly renovated Hixon Native Plant Courtyard.

July 21 – Fossil ID Day – Do you have a mystery fossil that you want identified?  Bring it to MOSH’s Fossil ID Day presented in conjunction with A T. rex Named Sue, the Museum’s summer exhibit. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., a panel of experts will be on site to provide you with information about your finds.  Free with museum admission.

July 26 – MOSH After Dark: Speaking of Weather – A Meteorologist from First Coast News will deliver an interactive program in the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium.  The presentation begins at 6 p.m. and is free for MOSH Members, students and teachers with an ID; $5 for the public.

Laser Beach Boys at 7 p.m., Laser Mania at 8 p.m., Laser Country at 9 p.m., and Laser Jimmy Buffet, Parrothead Party at 10 p.m. Tickets are available at www.moshplanetarium.org or at the door. Tickets are $5 per person per show; laser glasses cost $1.

July 28 – Dozing with Dinos – Spend the night in MOSH’s summer exhibit, A T. rex Named Sue, and sleep under the 42-foot long skeleton of Sue.  Cost is $40 per child, $40 per adult (required) and includes a late night pizza snack and donut breakfast. Members receive a $5 per person discount. Dozing with Dinos is from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m.  Register online at www.themosh.org or call 904.396.MOSH (6674), ext. 226.
