JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The spring weather has arrived a few days ahead for the actual season, but nevertheless, it's time for Movies in the Park.

Jacksonville residents are invited to Treaty Oak at Jessie Ball duPont Park on the Southbank for a series of evening movies beginning in early April.

  • Friday, April 8, Cars
  • Friday, April 15, The NeverEnding Story
  • Friday, April 29, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
  • Friday, May 6, The Wizard of Oz

All movies begin at dusk, which will be around 8 p.m.

The park opens to the public at 6:30, and everyone is encouraged to bring picnic dinners, blankets and chairs.

There will be a vendor selling concessions as well, but no alcohol will be allowed in the park.

Parking in the nearby Suddath garage is free, as is the movie.

The park's address is 1123 Prudential Drive.
