Save Duval Sports Fundraisers: Keep Lax in Jax

High schools will be kicking off October with fundraisers to save their sports programs.

Lighthouse Lacrosse will be hosting its First Annual Keep Lax in Jax Benefit Dinner to help save lacrosse. The event will begin with a Silent Auction that starts at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The cost is $50 per person. Athlete of the Week: Gabby Mallette, The Bolles School

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bolles senior volleyball player Gabby Mallette is the HighSchoolSports.net Student-Athlete of the Week.

This 6'1" outside hitter will be playing for the University of Florida next year.  She led the Bulldogs in kills last season and will likely do the same this year.

Bolles has gone to the Final Four in each of the last three years, and they hope to do so again this year with the help of Mallette and her fellow seniors Hannah Schellenberg and Aubrey Del Rio.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bishop Kenny won a matchup of volleyball powerhouses on Tuesday night.

The Crusaders swept the Bulldogs 25-20, 25-17, and 25-23.

Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville’s Cheerleading Team at Bolles High School Football Game

 

The Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville is excited to announce their Cheerleading Group will make its cheering debut at the highly anticipated Bolles High School vs. Fleming Island High School football game this Friday night.  The cheerleading team, which is made of up teenagers who all have Down syndrome, will be cheering during the halftime show at the Bolles High School field and will also be accepting donations for the DSAJ.

Duval County Public Schools Conducts Fundraiser with Moe’s Southwest Grill for J.V. Soccer

Several Duval County Public Schools’ high school coaches will conduct a fundraiser in conjunction with Moe’s Southwest Grill to raise money for J.V. soccer. The fundraiser will take place on Monday, September 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the four participating locations listed below.

Moe’s Southwest Grill will donate a percentage of their net sales earned on this day between the specified hours to help keep J.V. soccer in Duval County public schools for the 2011-12 school year.
