Help Wanted! Group Looking for Umps | News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Umpire Association held a training Saturday for first year and returning umpires at Wolfson High School.

The association is looking for men and women who are interested in calling balls and strikes for prep softball and baseball games.

Currently the association has 157 members but it is in need of more umps.

Phil Evans, president of the Jacksonville Umpires Association, said while anyone can apply they're specifically targeting women.

Evans said no sports experience is required and training is available.
