1st all saints antiques & garden party a success

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — All Saints Episcopal Church's 1st Annual Antiques & Garden Party was an outstanding community event — bringing together neighbors, friends, antique aficionados and culinary connoisseurs in a festive environment that helped raise much needed funds for the All Saints Care Center and community outreach missions.

The three-day event began with a special Thursday night preview party featuring a distinctive menu from CIA-trained Ortega chef, George Ellis. Guests enjoyed heavy appetizers and refreshments and perused silent auction items and show inventory before the even officially opened to the public. On Friday and Saturday, guests shopped the many antique and garden booths featuring period Americana pieces to Asian and European accessories, artwork, porcelains and furnishings. Garden accessories and plants were available from Firefly Designs. Antique appraisers also helped guests put a dollar value on their personal items. Lunch and baked goods were available.

Organizers were pleased with the turnout and have already begun plans for next year's event.

"It was a joy to bring people to the church campus and showcase such a well known collection of dealers and artists," said event chair Toastie Hardy. "But most of all, we were pleased to have helped raise important dollars for the All Saints care center and the deserving community groups we support."
